Bake it
Messy time! Hooray!
Bake some ice-cream bread in just 3 minutes.
Watch out! Ask a grown-up to help you as you’ll need to use a microwave. The mug will get very HOT!
Tip: You can make one for the person with MND.
If they find it too crumbly, mash it with some cream in a bowl.
Mashing food with cream, yoghurt or butter can help make it softer to eat.
Don’t forget to wash your hands before you start cooking.
- Half a tall mug of vanilla ice-cream
- A quarter of a mug of self-raising flour
- Chocolate chips (if you want them)
- Sprinkles to decorate
Find a microwaveable mug.
Fill it half full with ice-cream and wait about 10 minutes for it to melt.
Add the self-raising flour and mix well with the ice-cream.
You can mix chocolate chips in here if you want it to be sweeter.
Cook in the microwave on medium-high for 3 to 3½ minutes.
It’s cooked when it starts to puff over the top and the middle looks set.
This is where you need to ask a grown up to get the mug out of the microwave (hot, hot, hot!).
You can check it’s cooked by inserting a cooking skewer into the middle. If it comes out clean, it’s done.
Decorate with sprinkles if you like and enjoy. You can add some fresh ice-cream on top!
